Duncan A. Simpson
General Counsel

Mr. Simpson was named as General Counsel of B-29 Investments in May 2008. He is responsible for legal and governance matters for B-29, and provides legal support and counsel to the portfolio companies. Previously, he was the General Counsel for an international company that developed and manufactured medical devices, and was counsel for a publicly traded energy company. Prior to his role as corporate counsel, Mr. Simpson was an Assistant United States Attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana, for many years prosecuting a number of criminal matters, including white collar crime and public integrity corruption matters. Mr. Simpson was a commissioned Officer in the United States Navy, Civil Engineering Corps (SeaBees), and served in combat duty in Operation Desert Shield/Storm in the Persian Gulf where he was awarded a Navy Commendation, and in Operation Urgent Fury in Granada. He retired after more than twenty years of active and reserve service, reaching the rank of Commander. Before attending Law School, Mr. Simpson was an Operations Manager and Construction Engineer for Gulf Oil Corporation, in New Orleans, from 1980 through 1986, responsible for offshore development, production and construction. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, Louisiana and the District of Columbia, and is a licensed civil engineer. Duncan has a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (with honors) from Tulane University, a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University, and a Juris Doctor (with honors) from Loyola University.
